The “Modegroßhandelscenter” (MGC) is an office building with over 50.000 m² of floor space, which was originally built in the late 1970’s.

A certification process is included in the project that displays the energy demand and efficiency of this specific building. This helps to identify improvement potentials to further optimise the energy utilisation of the building. The certificate enables more transparency in the real estate sector.

The services provided throughout the course of this project include an audit of the ecological, economical, socio-cultural, technical and functional quality of the building during the planning stage of refurbishment according to the criteria of the Austrian Society for Sustainable Building.

It is also important to mention that a mass balance, a life-cycle cost analysis, an ecological foot print as well as a recycling concept are evident aspects in this project.

  • Energy certificates of the building (eight zones)
  • Mass-balance, life-cycle cost analysis and ecological foot print
  • Building and room simulation (thermal comfort) for winter and summer period
